Warning: Search Engine Police are Watching You!

by admin on May.16, 2009, under Sem

Clint Lenard asked:

SEARCH ENGINE POLICE BLOTTER

Beside the items listed in Code of Ethics for Optimization, there are other ways that a website can be labeled a “spammer” and find themselves banned from the search engines.

The major search engine companies have defined “spam web sites” to have:

1. Useless or bogus web page content

2. Automated pages

3. Multiple domains or sub domains with essentially the same content

4. “Sneaky” redirects

5. Cyber squatting (for example www.yahhoo.com)

6. Identity theft/pagejacking

7. Linking to “bad neighborhoods”

8. Replicated web pages, i.e., affiliate programs pages

Linking to “bad neighborhoods,” like link farms is considered a deceptive practice because the link is purely to boost a site’s popularity. Even if your site is not linked directly to a link farm, if the site that you link to has a link to one of these sites, your site could be banned.

When you are considering web sites as link partners, visit the site and review all of their links to be sure your that your website doesn’t become an “innocent bystander” victim of unethical search engine practices.

One of the ways that many web sites end up on the wrong side of the search engine police is by using any of the “automated submission” services on the Internet that grab your attention with the “submit your site to 50,000 search engines” tagline. When you subscribe to these services you will find that the majority of what they call search engines are really “Free For All” pages and other variations of this link farm strategy.

The email address to report spam is: spamreport@google.com

Or fill out their form at: http://www.google.com/contact/spamreport.html

For more information about spam guidelines, go to http://www.google.com/webmasters/.

The Internet

by admin on May.16, 2009, under Computers

Dean Barnard asked:

Copyright (c) 2007 Dean Barnard

It is rather embarrassing to write about something all of us are more than familiar with. Is there anybody who doesn’t know about the greatest invention on earth? After the invention of digit zero, of course! What is the World Wide Web or the net as it is popularly called?
Well, it all began with the US military. The US Air force commissioned a study for maintaining communication after a nuclear attack. Later ARPA (Advanced Research Projects agency) awarded the ARPANET project to BBN. It developed a protocol called TCP/IP which is widely used even today. Using this protocol one can connect and communicate with diverse computers over a network. The basic technology is called packet switching. Internet domain names like hellothere.com can be registered with the domain name registrars for an annual fee. The internet traffic is routed through the identification of domain names. Top level domains like .com , .org , .net have been quite popular . The other top level domains are .gov, .edu used by educational institutions and .mil used by the military. Another important terminology is Hosting. You can upload your information to an internet server which is called hosting. When a person types your web address, the information is sent to the computer or domain server where the address is resolved and directed to the computer where the information is stored. This way the circle is completed.

Routers & Routing

For the internet to work there has to be a channel. How will the data flowing on the net know where it should be routed? A device which routes information on the internet is called a Router. Actually the terminology used for internet is fairly simple and obvious. Though it is one of the most important pieces of equipment without which the internet would not work, is hidden from most of us. Basically a Router connects two or more different networks like a LAN network. A LAN or Local Area Network resolves the addresses of difference computers on the network using a switch. These networks are in turn connected with a switch. These can usually be found with Internet service providers.

Information between computers is exchanged by using data packets or simply packets. When a particular piece of data arrives at a router, it decides which way to send it. Unlike a normal telephone data where the complete information is carried by a single dedicated line, computer data is sent thorough many different channels. The advantages are obvious. If the data encounters a problem with a particular channel, it switches over to other working channels. Therefore the data is always transmitted without fail without abrupt disconnection as with telephone channel.

The job of the router is to decide if the packets received by it belong to the same network or it needs to be transmitted over the internet. It has to keep track of all packets sent via the internet and ensure that all packets are received by the recipient computer and resolve any problems arising out of this exchange.

Creating A Quality Link Building Campaign

by admin on May.16, 2009, under Link Popularity

Shawn Hickman asked:

Once you know how Google measures or evaluates your links then you will be in a better position to conduct a more effective link campaign. Before I explain the current pattern of link evaluation let’s take a stroll down memory lane to see how far things have come.

In The Beginning A link Was The Equivalent Of A Thumbs Up Vote!

The original premise of the internet was to have a bunch of related resources (websites) linking to one another in a natural pattern of progression. Thus someone on a website focusing on gorillas for example would then naturally migrate from that site to one that listed gorilla safaris. Thus quite soon links became (and still are) the standard with which to measure a websites relevance.

The thinking behind this was that the more popular a website was the greater the likelihood that people would link to it; and since people would only tend to link to sites that offered useful information then it naturally followed a large number of links signified quality, at least that was the idea.
The Birth of Link Spam!

Soon enough wily webmasters realized that they could manipulate the linking concept to their own advantage and make a handsome profit while they were at it. Instead of waiting for people to link to their new sites (a process that could take forever) why not form link directories whereby one, for a certain fee, could amass a large number of links in next to no time at all!

Booming Link market

Getting a new website indexed by Google used to be a task of Herculean proportions. Quite often new websites would languish in obscurity for ages, but those in the know realized that the process could be accelerated. By linking a new website to an established website or webpage with a high page rank (typically page rank (PR) 7 and above) that new website could be indexed by Google within days or a matter of hours depending on the PR value of the webpage on which the link was located. However getting a link from a high PR webpage did not come cheap and it was not uncommon for webmasters to fork over $800 for a one month link on a PR8 webpage!

Debut of The Link Farm

The link market trade flourished for a while, making a mockery of Google’s system of assessing the importance of any given website or webpage. However, a lot of webmasters in a hurry to see their websites scramble up the search engine indexes could not afford the hefty price commanded by a link from a high PR webpage and thus link farms came into being.

Link farms were the poor man’s solution to the hefty priced, high value links typical of high PR webpages. The premise of the link farm was as follows: instead of paying an outrageous sum of money for one link from a high page rank website why not pay a small fee for thousands of low PR links? In essence the link farms abided along the principle of the sum amounting to greater than its individual parts!

The Obsession With The PR Band!

Google thoughtful as ever, made it possible for anyone to determine the relative importance of a website at a glance. This they did by the introduction of the PR band, a small line atop one’s browser fittingly entitled with the word “PageRank.” The pagerank band scaled from a low of zero (PR0) to a high of ten (PR10). The greater the value that Google attributed to a given webpage the higher its designated page rank. In little to no time at that little green slash (PR band) became the highly effective unofficial publicist for the flourishing link market trade.

Webmasters obsessed over the PR band even though in truth the page rank value of a webpage plays little to no part in determining the position any webpage will attain on the SERPs (search engine index results pages). However savvy marketers used the PR obsession of the day to great advantage using it as a tool to establish credibility and ultimately sell their wares to the less savvy.

However somewhat on par with the abuse of the linking system, the page rank concept soon became equally defunct. In no time at all the Google index was awash with spam sites topping its front page! Something had to give; and it did!

Fast Forward To Today…New Link Evaluation Parameters!

Oh how times have changed!

The search engine algorithms have gotten so much smarter that even blackhat SEO (shady search engine optimization techniques) these days is more trouble than its worth. With the continued abuse and manipulation of the system Google furiously tackled the issue of how to maintain website relevance and quality in its index in an increasingly spammy world.

Since its embracement by the public, the internet has seen its fair share of SEO manipulation from blackhat techniques such as multiple-blog-creation software following the debut of blogs (principle behind this system was that one could create thousands of instant one-way backlinks through the instant generation of thousands of blogs) to whitehat techniques such as the widespread dissemination of articles through article distribution software or services.

Some of these techniques still have value today while others have been effectively nullified such as the mass generation of backlinks through the creation of instant blogs.

How Google Currently Evaluates Links.

It used to be that if the PR band of your website/webpage was gray then this signified that said webpage had been banned. That is no longer the case. All new websites/webpages start off with a grayed out PR band. This band will remain that color depending on a number of factors before it turns white (indicating that the probationary period is over) and eventually transforms to green with establishment of page rank above zero.

Link Aging Filter / Link Probation Period

To counter the widespread habit of acquiring links for a short-term period, say a month, so as to get a website indexed or attain page rank quickly, Google now subjects every link to a probationary period in which time the link is identified by Google but not accorded any value. Although such a link is recognized by Google, typically it will not be registered as a link associated with the website to which the link points for a subjective period; for that to happen the link needs to mature, and the rate at which a link matures is dependent on a number of factors.

Factors That Hasten Link Maturity Or Reduce Link Probationary Period

1. Keywords: The keyword incorporated in any given link is going to determine how long that link will be under probation. The more competitive the keyword the longer will be the link’s probationary period. In reality this link probationary system has superseded the Google Sandbox, which was/is Google’s technique of ensuring that super-optimized new sites do not zoom uncontrollably up the SERPs, quickly overshadowing long established websites. With respect to the Google Sandbox concept, if a new website was/is targeting a very competitive market already saturated with millions of sites, then that new website would spend a longer period cooling its heels in the Google Sandbox.

2. Volume of Traffic Across A Link: The more trafficked a link is, the quicker it will attain full SEO-value recognition by Google. This is a relatively new system in play and basically what it means is that a heavily trafficked low PR link will bestow far more SEO influence to the webpage it points to than a little trafficked high page rank link. In essence Google has pretty much nullified the system whereby webmasters could purchase links from high PR webpages in hopes of improving the SEO status of their own site. The application of this system explains why some newer webpages attain PR before older more established webpages on the very same website.

3. Links From Topically Related Sites: A links that comes from a website or webpage that has a comprehensively topical relationship to the destination webpage will have greater value than a link that does not. For example, say your website is about internet marketing, getting a link from another website that focuses on online marketing software would definitely fall under the category of topically related sites.

4. Utilizing Different Keywords In Links: Having the same keyword incorporated within all the links pointing to your site will tend to set off red flag alerts, which means that those links are not going to attain full SEO-value recognition by Google for a longer duration. Another link strategy you should employ is to have your links pointing to some of your inner pages as opposed to all your links pointing to your home page. Having links spread across multiple webpages registers as a more natural link strategy to the Google algorithm and the premise of this algorithm tweak was to nullify the system where webmasters would purchase links from link directories.

Remember anything that appears suspicious to the Googlebot is ultimately going to decrease the effectiveness of your SEO campaign. There’re many more factors that play a role in determining how high and how fast your website will make it up the SERPs (Google of course doesn’t spill all the beans) but if you conduct your link campaign with these few tips in mind you won’t go far wrong.

Spotting a Phony Search Engine Marketing Company Within 3 Minutes

by admin on May.16, 2009, under Web Hosting

Dave Carlson asked:

Raise your hand if you’ve ever received an email promising top 10 placement on the search engines. I get them all the time, and I’m in the business. Often these kinds of

companies use “blackhat” tactics that can get you kicked off the search engines. These tactics would include hidden text, doorways pages that the public can’t see, link farms, and a variety of other strategies.

Often blackhat search engine marketing (SEM for short) companies use deceptive sales practices and prey on business owners who know they should be doing search engine

optimization (SEO) but don’t know much about it. Luckily, these companies have some similarities in their deceit. Here are five ways to spot a phony search engine marketing

company as well as three great ways to find a quality SEM company.

They Make Promises of Front Page Placement in a Short Period

A phony SEM company will promise to put you on the front page on three of your key phrases in at least three of the top 10 search engines. Remember, the big three search engines — Google, Yahoo! and MSN—account for approximately 90 percent of the

searches done on the Internet. So the bottom seven search engines divvy up the last 10 percent They’ll let you pick the top 10 key phrases and then work to get you on the lower ranked search engines that have a miniscule percentage of the searches. So the

phony SEO company delivers on their promises but it doesn’t result in a great increase in website traffic.

Their Site isn’t Highly Ranked or is Blacklisted

Do they register highly in the search engine? Are they blacklisted? You can tell their blacklisted by going to Google or one of the other search engines and typing in “site:www.theirdomainname”. If there are no results then most likely they have been blacklisted or are brand new. One of my clients signed a contract with a company this

past year. I showed him that both of the company’s web sites were blacklisted, most likely for using deceptive practices. Do you want your website and business marketed using deceptive practices? Do you want to get blacklisted by Google?

They’re Vague About What They Do

A phony SEM firm will give you vague ideas on what they will do, as well as not tell you the nefarious things they will do. Be wary when a company talks too little in specifics and too much in vagaries. With my proposals I give specifics without giving away my

trade secrets. If they don’t give at least some specifics then they are probably trying to hide something.

They Bully You When You Question Them or Say “No”

One of my clients talked to a search marketing company about pay per click advertising and wanted me to check them out. The company wanted $10,000 in advance and

promised traffic at a good cost per click. But it would have taken three years to spend that kind of budget with the number of searches on his phrases. Thanks, but no thanks. So the

black hat started in with rhetorical questions that presumed I would be an idiot if I didn’t use their services. I calmly said “no” again, and he started up again, so I just hung up.

Don’t waste your time on a bully.

They Contact You

If they are so good at search engine optimization, then you should be contacting them.

They will have high rankings on the search engines themselves on terms that people are searching for. There are some legitimate companies that do initiate calls, so ask for references from clients who are seeing success.

Three Great Ways to Find a Quality Search Engine Marketing Company.

If you’re going to do SEM I would recommend:

1. Talk with colleagues or friends that are seeing success with other companies. They should be able to give you an idea of specific results they are seeing and how well they

are being treated by their SEO company.

2. Use the search engines to find local companies that are doing well on the search engines. If you live in Dallas, type in “Dallas search engine optimization firms”.

Assuming that the people on the front page are local, you can meet with them to find out more about how they work, what they charge, and what results you might expect.

3. Listen for the Big Three Fundamentals of SEM. A genuine SEO company will talk about finding the best phrases to market, getting more content on your site, and getting incoming links to your site. There might be some ancillary techniques they’d recommend,

too, but the three tactics mentioned above should be the foundation of their work.

So, in three minutes you could look up their site, ask them for specifics, and request references. If any of these three are questionable, politely say you’re not interested and hang up. And then start looking for a company who is reputable with an acquaintance,

shows up well on the search engines, and is using good fundamentals. By doing this you will save yourself time, money and headaches.

Do You Need to Locate Someone

by admin on May.16, 2009, under Home And Family

Ed Opperman asked:

Are you looking for someone who has significance in or to your life but who has indicated they don’t want to be found? If so, with today’s technology, locating them is easier than you might think. In addition, engaging the services of an investigative professional will get results much faster than in years gone by.

People from many life walks choose daily to get lost, disappear, and / or sever ties with their current lives. Individuals in this category include husbands who have decided to walk away from their families; youths who run away from home; wives who escape from their lives and employees and employers who have committed some crime against their company. Others also include able-bodied people who are fraudulently receiving disability payments, birth mothers who adopted out their child, fathers and mothers who are dodging child support payments, and bail jumpers. There are of course others but they’re too numerous to name here.

Advancements in technology and the computer age have made it possible so that not one of the categories of people named above can stay lost. Why is this so? Because most everyone either sends email or will text message someone from the life from which they’re attempting an escape. They also have to apply for credit. Whether when trying to obtain a credit card, car loan , apt or mortgage. If if they get turned down or are in collection and bankruptcy their personal information is available to licensed private investigators.

Our mobile society is relentless in and relies heavily upon instant communication. This very fact actually makes it very easy to track down someone who does not wish to be located using their own email, text message and instant messaging, even if they have been missing for many years. There is nowhere on the planet where this does not apply.

Although your attempts may not have been successful in locating your missing person, assuredly they can be located. Moreover, securing the services of an investigative professional would help you locate the person you’re looking for more quickly.

People run away for various reasons, and may go to great lengths to stay hidden. However, the professional investigative company has the tools to help you locate your missing person. So, if a situation has arisen in your life recently that makes it necessary to locate someone who does not want to be found, you’ve got help.

Regardless of how long they have been gone it is still possible to find them. This may not be something that you are able to do yourself; so, hiring a professional investigation company to do it for you would be your best route. The investigative professional will be able to do it more quickly and less expensively than you might think. They have access to industry data bases that include the subjects name, address date of birth, social security numbers, credit and banking headers.

A good seasoned investigator will also have a lifetime of sources in utility companies, law enforcement and other areas of life that people cannot avoid.

Blog Multiplication Equals Higher Earnings

by admin on May.16, 2009, under Sem

Ralph Ruckman asked:

I just want to ask you one quick question. Are your blogs profitable? I told you it would be quick. It’s real simple to answer. Either your blogs are earning for you, or their not. I will tell you something here and I will be blunt. If your blogs are earning you some type of income then you need to listen up. If your blogs are not earning you some sort of income then you DEFINETLY need to listen up. Pay attention close to what I say and maybe the next time someone asks you that question instead of saying yes or no you can say “HECK YES THEY ARE”!

Now I again will be blunt. Some people consider this totally unethical and blackhat. I leave that for you to decide. A vast majority of the people that will tell you this is “blackhat”, are not earning “peanuts” from their blogging efforts. The people who have the “Victory or Death” approach are reaping profits only some can imagine to make on the Internet.

So what exactly am I talking about you ask? I’m talking about multiplying your blogging efforts and exploding your Adsense and Affiliate income. Now before I tell you on how to do that, I want to ask you some more questions. First, are your Adsense earnings substantial? Is your Affiliate income coming in at a level that is suitable for you to be satisfied with? Do you keep finding it harder and harder each day to rank for the keywords you are shooting for? Are you having just a tough enough time to get your site or blog indexed? Well, if you answered NO or you replied with a slow YES then keep reading because I’m going to tell you how I get all of my sites and blogs indexed within 3 days. Yes, I get them indexed in 3 days, although I have waited a week before, it’s still not long enough for me to get agitated about.

Now, there are a lot of people that will tell you that Blogging and Pinging is dead. I am here to tell you that either they are not doing it right, or they did not have it work for them so they have jumped to the assumption that it does not work. IT DOES WORK! I know it does and so do thousands of other people on the NET. The trick is to not just create 1 blog but to create hundreds of blogs. Yes I said “hundreds” of blogs. Now you might be thinking that creating that many blogs is just insane and too time consuming. Well, you are exactly right about the “time” part. But you are dead wrong about creating that many blogs to be “insane”.

For every site or blog I create, I will go and create 50 blogs with links back to my “main” site. I then post to these blogs, ping them and let the search engines coming running through the links back to my “main” sites. I do this all with FREE Blogger Blogs. Yes Blogger is still alive and still serves a purpose. In case you did not know, Blogger is owned by Google and is a sub domain with a Pagerank 10. Imagine links to your main “moneymakers” on a sub domain Pagerank 10 blog being pinged incrementally with whatever times you set. Now just imagine you had 50, 100, or even thousands of blogs with your links to your sites being pinged to tell those feisty Search Engines to “Come have a look”.

If you think about it for a minute, it’s by far the fastest way to get a site or blog indexed. Now, that we have covered your site being indexed let’s go over backlinks. Backlinks play a HUGE factor in determining your site’s ranking in the Search Engines. Well, just like we made blogs to get our sites indexed, we can just make more blogs with proper anchor text links back to our main sites. It’s that simple people. There is no fluff here.

Using Blogger to get your sites indexed and ranked is practically a No-Brainer. Now we can multiply and expand this issue by using software. Now like I said before, some will deem this unethical and Blackhat. I will leave that for you to decide. You can either keep busting your tail focusing on your Optimization, link swapping, and promoting or you can “jump on the train” and do what so many of us are doing to earn the kind of earnings we are bringing in. There’s a simple decision to be made here. Do you want to spend all that time on your site to get indexed and ranking well, only to find that the next algorithm knocks it back down to dirt level. Or do you want the simple, swift, and sweet victory of less work, and MORE earnings faster than you thought possible? I leave this for you to decide.

How to Get a Top Ten Ranking in the Search Engines

by admin on May.16, 2009, under Seo

Ameet Arurkar asked:

So you have got a brand new shiny website and you are raring to tell everyone about it. You submit your site to Google, Yahoo, MSN and a few directories. You sit back and wait for visitors to come pouring in, right? Wrong! Visitors will never find your site if you are not listed in the top few search results on the Search Engines (unless you are into Internet Marketing and have a big fat list of opt-in email subscribers - which 99.9% of us do not have). Because lets face it - if your website does not show up on a Google search, you may as well not have one. Its like opening a shop on the moon.

So what do you do to make sure your site appears in the top ten rankings?

First I will tell you what NOT to do:

1. Do not submit your site to the Search Engines Search Engines will crawl your site if its mentioned / linked on other big sites which are crawled daily (I will show you how to get your site there a little later).

2. Do not submit to thousands of Directories or FFA pages Submitting your site to thousands of irrelevant directories will do you more harm than good. Its alright if you submit to a few niche directories related to your field. NEVER use mass submission software and submit to FFA (Free For All) link pages as your site will be seen as spammy by the Search Engines and you will be sandboxed and/or penalized.

3. Do not participate in linking schemes The Search Engines are getting smarter by the day and participating in Link schemes like Link Farms, Webrings, Link Co-ops etc. will only hurt your site.

4. Do not use content that is already being used by hundreds of other sites Posting duplicate content on your site will attract a duplicate content penalty from the Search Engines. Thousands of cookie cutter sites having the same articles posted on them does not benefit anybody. Instead write fresh content. Search Engines love fresh content.

5. Do not use shady/blackhat tactics I have actually seen very experienced webmasters use stupid techniques like creating doorway pages or adding a whole bunch of keywords into a paragraph of text and then changing its color to the same color as the website background (so that visitors cannot see it but the Search Engines can) and similar blackhat tricks. This is very dangerous and can get your website banned from a Search Engine. Read Google’s guidelines about what not to do here - http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35769

6. Do not stuff your site with keywords If you think your site is going to rank well because you have stuffed all your keywords into your main page, you have another think coming. Only use 2-3 keywords per page and make your website copy interesting to your readers first. Remember – people first, Search Engines later!

7. Do not use the same keyword for all your incoming links and don’t point all your links to your homepage If all the incoming links to your site are having the same anchor text and all your links come in to just the homepage, it looks artificial to the SE’s. Your incoming links should be spread across multiple keywords and across multiple pages of your site.

Now that we know what not to do, we can proceed to the 7 Steps that will get your site a top ten ranking but before I do that, I’ll say a quick word about keywords. It is most important to do your keyword research BEFORE you start promoting your site. If you end up optimizing your site and getting links for the wrong keywords, all your efforts will be wasted and you will have to start over. So the foremost thing to do is use a tool to research your keywords. My favourite tool is the one from Wordtracker - freekeywords.wordtracker.com. I would also recommend using Good Keywords (goodkeywords.com) and The Dowser (thedowser.com).

Now, here are the 7 steps that will get you into the top ten on Google:

1. SEO: Search Engine Optimization - This is single the most important step you can take to increase your rankings. On page optimization like putting your keywords in the title, adding meta tags, h1, h2 tags, image alt text, robots.txt are simple things you can do yourself. Few webmasters realize the importance of SEO. Instead they lay more emphasis on promoting their website through PPC (pay per click) advertising, Blog posts etc. There are many free tools on the Internet which can help you with SEO. If you are not technically inclined, I would suggest hiring a SEO Company or a SEO firm to do the job for you.

2. Exchanging Links - That’s right. Exchanging links the old fashioned way still works. Most people would scoff at the idea but if you exchange links with the right websites, it can do wonders for your rankings. You should always exchange reciprocal links ONLY with sites which are related to your subject. Hundreds of link exchanges with irrelevant websites will do no good to your rankings - that’s the catch - relevancy, and this is where most webmasters make a mistake.

3. Build quality content - When you write quality content, people will WANT to link to you. So ask yourself this – is the content I am writing /program I am developing going to be interesting enough for people to want to link/tag to? Not only will this get you hundreds of links the natural way but also keep people coming back to your site. A win-win situation for everybody!

4. Participate in Communities - When you participate in forums related to your subject, not only do you gain reputation and business but also linkbacks to some interesting content you wrote or some product you shared with others. Use social bookmarking/ tagging sites like Digg.com, Del.icio.us, Furl, Reddit etc. to spread the word about your site. This will help you get links from high trust rank sites and ultimately increase your rankings. But remember – don’t spam! If your site does not add value to people, you will get negative comments. It might even hurt your site if you spam these services as they will ban your url which will also stop other readers/users of these services from sharing your site.

5. Write Press Releases and Articles - You should write articles about the subject which you are knowledgeable about and tell people about it through forums, submit it to sites like ezinearticles.com, findarticles.com, goarticles.com etc. Each article should have a link back to your site with your main keyword as its anchor text. Normally you can use the footer of the article for this.

You should write Press Releases about the new product/service you have launched. Your Press Release should look like news and not like an advertisement. Don’t use Press Releases if you don’t have anything newsworthy to say as it would show your site in a bad light. Press releases should be short and to the point. These will get you hundreds of backlinks from High pagerank and high trust sites.

6. Get High PageRank, High TrustRank, .EDU links - Links form high pagerank sites, high trustrank sites and .edu domains hold a lot of weight in the SE’s. It’s not easy to get these links but once you get them, your rankings will most likely climb a few 100 notches. So how do you get such links? No, I am not going to suggest that you sue Google so that you can get on CNN or something crazy like that.

A few suggestions:

a. Develop a free software/tool related to your industry and spread the news about it. If you cannot do it yourself, get it developed from a freelance programmer. You can find hundreds of programmers at sites like scriptlance.com and getafreelancer.com

b. Sponsor a college event/seminar related to your industry. Most educational institutions have websites (which will mention everything about the event including a link to the sponsor’s website. wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

c. Advertise in Online Yellow pages, Product pages and Industry portals.

d. Distribute Bumper stickers with your website url printed on it (just kidding)

7. Buy links - I know a lot of SEO’s advice against buying links but they do it themselves quite often. Buying PR9, PR8 related Authority site links will boost your rankings like nothing else will. There are many brokers out there who sell links and many forums you can buy links from. I would suggest using TextLinkAds.com, LinkAdage.com and TextLinkBrokers.com. I would also advice buying blogroll links, blog posts and sponsored reviews wherever possible (on relevant sites related to your field only).

If you consistently and sincerely work as per the above suggestions, you should get a top ten ranking for your site within 3-6 months. If you don’t want to hassle yourself with going through all the above steps, you can always hire a good firm which offers SEO Services and they’ll do it for you ;)

Best of luck! Until the next article,

Important Points To Remember Before Hiring An Offshore Website Promotion Company

by admin on May.15, 2009, under Seo

Mark Taylor asked:

These days many internet marketers are looking forward to hire offshore website promotion companies for their SEO campaign as it is a cost effective solution. Blogger Generator Review – Create Blogger Blogs on Autopilot

by admin on May.15, 2009, under Blogging

Ricky Lim asked:

Blogger generator is a software tool developed by Joe Tierney who also developed other blackhat SEO tools such as the trackback generator and the blog farm generator.

What does Blogger Generator do?

Blogger generator allows you to build large numbers of blogger blogs on autopilot. This means it can build hundreds of blogger blogs in a few hours plus auto update it with content that you choose.

I have used this tool for quite a while and although it takes a while to get used to the options, after a while, everything becomes simple and you can really appreciate the power it can do. Plus Joe is constantly updating the software so it isn’t those products that never get fixed or updated by the owner.

Blogger Generator comes with a suite of tools. The main tool is of course is the blogger generator program.

All the user have to do is enter some information such as keywords and where to get the content and off it goes to create blogger blogs. The only non automated thing is the CAPCHA value which you must enter manually.

The program is very stable and does not crash easily after even several hours of building thousands of blogs.

The other program bundled is called blogger verifier which requires a catchall domain email address. What it does is it will automatically verify any blogger blog created using various email address which of course does not exist but is forwarded to your catchall email address. This saves you a lot of time in verifying blogger verification emails.

The third program is the article grabber and as it’s name implies, it scrapes articles from ezinearticles according to the keywords you specified earlier. It is simple to use and everything is done automatically.

The fourth program is called Grablinks. What it does is simply grab the sitemap of your blog or website and read all the URLs in it for use in the blog poster pro. This is used more for baclinks to your money site.

Blogger Generator is a great tool if you want to create hundreds if not thousands of blogger blogs in a few hours. Although some blogger blogs will get deleted, the majority of my blogs are still around even after 6 months and it is so easy to create more.
